Hi, I’m Katerina
I’m a photographer based in Berlin, traveling across Europe to tell soulful stories of love and freedom for weddings and couples. My work blends documentary honesty with artistic sensitivity, creating images that feel candid, soulful and deeply human. My style is rooted in heartfelt, raw moments, softened by a gentle, film-inspired aesthetic.
I’ve always been deeply curious, constantly asking why and how. That curiosity eventually guided me toward a career in translation and languages, opening the world to me and allowing me to live in three very different countries. It taught me how to connect with people across cultures, and it’s a big part of why I travel so widely today, photographing international weddings all over Europe.
But I always knew I was an artist at heart. In 2019, I took a leap: I quit my job, moved to a new city and, through my lifelong love of cinema, I found my way into photography. My background in documentary photography and film shaped the way I see and create. Whether it’s a wedding, a family, or a single portrait, I’m always drawn to real, unposed moments — the ones that quietly reveal who you truly are.
I’m a very laid-back, easygoing person who believes in going with the flow. I value sincerity over luxury and real emotion over perfection. I don’t work with professional models — I’m drawn to real people, their uniqueness, their quirks, and the beautiful honesty that comes with inexperience. For me, a photoshoot is a living, breathing process, a space where you can simply show up as yourself.
At the heart of my work is emotion. Years from now, you won’t be looking for perfectly posed, flawless images - you’ll want to feel what that day was truly like. That’s why my approach is intuitive and spontaneous. I observe quietly, follow the rhythm of your connection, and look for the way you naturally exist together: the way you brush back a strand of hair, the unrestrained sound of your laughter, the light settling softly on your hands.
I believe perfection lives within imperfection, and that the most beautiful moments are often the ones that happen on their own.
Of course, I always take a few classic portraits — traditions matter. But what I truly cherish are the honest, in-between moments. The final photos matter, of course, but the experience you have during the shoot is just as important. Being seen by someone attentive and genuinely curious can help you see yourself in a new light.
What drew me to couples and weddings is the simple, profound beauty of connection — real, quiet, genuine. At the heart of everything I do is the desire to capture that truth. I want anyone who looks at your photos to feel who you are, what you mean to each other, and the gentle beauty of your everyday life.
Love has always been my inspiration, shaped by my own story with my husband. We’ve known each other since the first grade of school and have been together for 15 years. He teaches me to notice love in the smallest moments and I try to share that through my images.
I don’t have a touching story about my grandfather giving me a camera in my childhood. Instead, it took courage to completely reshape my life and pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. I often say I don’t work as a photographer — I live as a photographer.
Photography is my way of seeing, connecting, and giving something meaningful back to the world. And if you choose to work with me, I’ll bring that same care, curiosity and heart into telling your story the way it truly deserves.
